Market Volunteers: This position is for Adults and teens over 14 years of age. The primary responsibility includes greeting visitors and ringing up orders on the cash register. The market Is the main area where information on farm programs is disseminated to the public.
Stall Cleaners: This is a great job for anyone who loves to muck up horse manure. Anyone who is strong and eager to help keep our horses stalls clean would be ideal for this position. Volunteers must be able to handle a wheel barrel and mucking rake.
Animal Feeders: ACF has AM and PM feeders for all animals with the exception of our horses. Feeders feed one day a week and ensure that all our animals are well fed and watered. All feeders are trained prior to starting . This position can be for and individual or a family.
Petting Zoo Guides: This volunteer position is for someone who loves farm animals and wants to share the animals’ stories, as well as whole-heartily believes and understands the mission of the farm and the animals contribution to that mission. This opportunity entails a few hours on a specified day and time for the petting zoo to be open to the public and sharing their stories and how they contribute to the mission of the farm. Other responsibilities during this opportunity is to maintain the petting zoo area, assist visitors in learning about our animals and the mission of the farm. This opportunity can be customized to a schedule that works for the right candidate and farm. The ideal ages for this position are upper middle-school aged individuals and up. This is a great opportunity for adults and seniors too. Individuals need to be self-sufficient, motivated, and able to be unsupervised. Children under 11 years of age need to volunteer with a parent.
Garden Green Thumbs: This volunteer position is perfect for the gardener that is passionate about sustainability and healthy gardening. In order to maintain and continue to grow fresh healthy organic produce here at the farm, volunteers that can assist in weeding, seeding, planting, and harvesting is ideal. This position Is for adults or teens only.
Volunteer opportunities are geared for those that wish to make a commitment and are interested and passionate about Allaire Community Farm and its mission. These opportunities are not appropriate for those looking to only fulfill community service hours (i.e. National Honors, religious commitments, etc).
In order to be a volunteer with us, you will need to download and sign our photo release and waiver form. You must bring a signed copy of this form with you on your first day of volunteering at the farm.
