🌱 Garden and Grow: Summer Gardening Adventure

A fun, hands-on 4-week summer gardening program designed to spark curiosity about nature, plants, and food while building responsibility, STEM skills, and appreciation for the outdoors. Led by experienced instructors (including guidance from a Master Gardener), children explore real farm/garden spaces and take home plants, knowledge, and excitement!

Core Curriculum Highlights

A progressive 4-week journey into gardening and farm life:

🌱 Week 1 – Foundations

Welcome intros, name-tag bonding activity, garden/farm safety tour, basic botany (what plants need, plant parts, varieties)

🌿 Week 2 – Planting Basics

Hands-on seeding, transplanting, companion planting strategies

🌻 Week 3 – Growing & Caring

Bulbs (e.g., potatoes/onions demos), propagation techniques (cuttings in water/soil), safe animal interactions (feeding, brushing goats, etc.)

🍅 Week 4 – Harvest & Beyond (or Flex)

Harvesting & tasting fresh produce, simple recipes, intro to aquaponics & hydroponics (symbiosis demos, soil-free basics), plus take-home plants from propagation stations

Daily mix: SMART board visuals/videos/diagrams, outdoor hands-on stations, group challenges, nature journals, bug hunts, seed crafts, and "pet garden" mini-projects
